For Healthcare Providers

“American physicians spend nearly eight hours per week on paperwork and employ 1.66 clerical workers per doctor.” – Thomson Reuters healthcare waste study, 10/09)

Protohit was developed by a healthcare provider for healthcare providers to reduce paperwork and costs while also improving patient outcomes.
Dr. Phil Wagner, our Chief Medical Officer, developed the foundation for Protohit at his clinic in California.  Dr. Wagner practices at the VA hospital in Albuquerque and teaches at UNM.

In developing the Protohit protocols in his practice, Dr. Wagner reduced the average number of visits per injury from 13 to six. (The national average is 12.)

Protohit provides a single approval protocol treatment system directly to healthcare providers. By cutting waste in administrative processes and unnecessary treatments, clinics increase productivity and profitability. Patient visits decrease by 40% while achieving MMI in the same or quicker times. Total costs decrease by 15%.

Protohit has 21 protocols which cover the vast majority of ICD-9 (international classification of diseases) codes used in the practice of worker compensation. The protocols are guidelines providing the physicians the ability to make minor treatment adjustments as they see fit. Physicians can choose to put their patients into protocol or not; however, based on our experience, typically 85% of cases will fit within a protocol.

Protohit monitors the resources consumed for each case so you can measure both your internal performance and performance against other clinics around the country. This data is internal to the clinic and not shared with the carriers. Physicians can choose to put their patients into protocol or not; however, typically 85% of cases will fit within a protocol.

We’re currently in customer trials through year-end 2010. If you’re interested in being a beta site – or simply want to discuss how we could help you (we welcome input), please email info@protohit.com.
